What is a Coggin's test?

A simple blood test to identify horse's infected with EIA (Equine Infectious Anemia)

What is EIA?

EIA is a viral infection in horses that is lifelong. The most common way that a horse becomes infected with EIA is from the bite of a horse fly.  There is no vaccine for EIA therefore, we Test to Protect.  Euthanasia of infected horses is most often required by the state veterinarian.  The horse in the back pasture that hasn’t traveled for years is equally likely to have EIA as a performance horse.

North Carolina law states that any horse on public property (including state highways) must be accompanied with a current Coggin’s report.
