Videoendoscopy allows visualization of structures deep within the body by using a camera on the the end of a long tube and projecting the image from the camera to a computer monitor where it can be recorded.
Gastroscopy is the visualization of the esophagus and stomach. It is most often used to diagnose Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS). As the treatment for EGUS is often expensive, definite diagnosis is often prior to treatment.
Upper respiratory endoscopy is used to evaluate the nasal passages, sinus opening, guttural pouches, and trachea. It is often used to detect the source of abnormal respiratory sounds or locate an origin of infection.
Tillotson Equine is one of the few practices in the area equipped with such veterinary tools and works closely with other veterinarians when referred cases that require such diagnostic techniques.
