There are many situations where acupuncture may be indicated included improving overall well being, management of pain, removal of undesirable behaviors, limiting susceptibility of disease, and diagnosis and treatment of disease.  Dr. Tillotson believes it offers the greatest benefit in the management of pain and maximizing the overall well being of the horse.
